4-1

Hall Road Rangers played out a classic game of two halves on Saturday as they travelled to Rossington Main going down 4-1. With the words of Assistant Manager karl Atkin ringing in their ears before kick off Rangers set about Rossington with passion and enthusiasm. Mike Thompson and Tom Bennett both went close in the opening 30 minutes and with Danny Walker putting himself about Rangers looked dangerous. Main’s only first half chance came as they clipped the post after a long ball forward was latched onto.
Rangers finally got their just desserts as on his return to Rossington ex player Tom Bennet pounced on a ball squared by Danny Walker to blast home and put the travellers in the lead on 44 minutes. Deservedly infront at the break Atkin will have lamented the half time stop in play as Rossington came out a changed team. The instrumental introduction of lighting fast Marcel Chipamuaga poved to be a turning point and with Shaun Pendleton taking the game by the neck things swung. Chipamuaga got his first of four on 52 minutes to draw the sides level.
Dan Clancy then squandered a lovely chance only for Chipamuaga to pounce on a Jordan Douglas slip to make it 2-1. The error by Douglas proved to be the nail in Rangers coffin and with heads dropping Rangers conceded again on 67 though Chipamuaga for his hat trick. A fourth was added by Chipamuaga on 75 to make it 4-1. Andy Harrison almost grabbed on back for Ranger as his shot grazed the post to go wide on 84 minutes. It wasn’t to be though and 4-1 it ended to the home side. After the game Assistant Manager Karl Atkin was distraught with the result.
“A real game of two halves with the lads being faultless in the first half” “ We got the goal we deserved through a great finish from Tom Bennett.” “At half time I couldn't of been happier with the way they played and asked for more of the same in the second.”
“Unfortunately we didn't get going in the second half and were undone quickly after break. We looked a team lacking in confidence and belief and it showed after we fell behind.”
“We are showing we can play well but a failing to put a full 90 minutes performance in. I'm sure it will come and the lads deserve it as they are working harder than ever to get our first win, we go again”
Rangers will be on the road to Knaresbrough Town on Tuesday evening when they will be hoping to emulate their last fixture of the 2014/15 season when they beat Town 2-1.
