Young Rangers Second Pre Season Game

Hall Road Rangers Under 19 continued their preseason work out with a game against Harrogate Town Under 19's. The game was the first side the two teams had met since last seasons FA Youth Cup tie when Rangers came out 2-1 winners.

Hall Road Rangers started the better of the two sides with a Lewis Reeve header testing the keeper. On 25 minutes Rangers took the lead with some great build up play resulting in last seasons top goal scorer Sam Tucker heading in from close range. Rangers doubled their lead on 32 minutes after a slog in the box resulted in Josh Marsh finishing from in side the six yard box.

Rangers made 8 changes at half time and the changes took some time to step up to the tempo of the game Harrogate pulled one back on 51 minutes with a goal of the season contender. Rangers then let in two quick fire goals with Harrogate taking the lead.

Rangers pulled level on 82 minutes with a Liam Lawson cool strike from inside the box. The game finished 3-3.

Speaking after the game Rangers boss Chris Wright said "We looked to be home and dry after the first half, in a league game the changes would not be made. However preseason is about giving every player a fair crack of the whip."

Wright further commented "The pleasing aspect was again we have showed character to pull it level. I think overall another good work out ahead of the new season. A chance for me and Marc again to try out different systems of play"
