Bowling first, on a lovely warm and sunny evening, Hambrook U11's soon realised that Bitton would put up more resistance than previous opponents this season. The first wicket stand of 49 was broken by Samuel Manning
, but Bitton pressed on to eventually score 116. Harry Fletcher
, once again, headed the bowling with 2 for 19.
Generally Hambrook were slow in the field but took their chances when they came and set about overturning a good score.
Starting brightly, George Weston
and Harrison Wheeler put up an opening stand of 41 before George was bowled. Jamie Kislingbury
, after a slow start battered the bowling to hit 25 n.o. However, from hereon the batting fell away except for momentary flourishes of bat-swinging from Samuel Manning
(6), Dylan Evans
(4), and Daniel Whitton
So no cup glory this year! Fridays training will mix fielding drills with running between the wickets.
Well Done Team
