Santa's Seafood 7's

The long-awaited return of the finest sevens tournament in the southeast finally arrived on December 6th, 2008. Why have a Seven's tournament in December you ask? Well, as we all know, rugby backs have very fragile egos. Since the backs will undoubtedly be the cause for most of the anticipated knock-ons, missed tackles, poor rucking, and countless other senseless penalties that even a youth rugby forward would never be foolish enough to commit we know that their sensitive side will be bruised by the constant, umm...coaching and positive reinforcement offered by the pack players during the upcoming matrix season. We hope to avoid crying , hissy fits, and bad hair days by allowing them a tournament designed to make the backs look good. The easiest way to accomplish this daunting task was to remove all the forwards, boil down the scrum to a 3 player square dance, and limit the half's to just 7 minutes (Independent laboratory testing has confirmed that if left unsupervised for more than 8 minutes, the backs would stop playing the game, share their feelings with the opposing side, and brushing each others hair). More reports from the tournament to follow.
