Handsworth's pre-season form continued with another victory, this time away at Teversal. An eventual 3-1 triumph in a very one-sided affair.

The first half started at a fast pace, and it was Parramore that dictated the play and were very dominant in the opening quarter of an hour. Handsworth should’ve been in front on 14 minutes when a cross from Lee Whittington found Sam Smith unmarked, and he had 3 bites at the cherry all of which were kept out by the Teversal stopper.

But Sam Smith wasn’t to be denied for too much longer, getting his 2nd goal this pre-season thanks to a wonderful curling effort into the top right-hand corner of the goal. Keeper, no chance. That made it 1-0 and deservedly so.

Shortly after the opener, it was 2-0. Lee Whittington raced clear of the Teversal defence and squeezed the ball through the goalkeepers’ legs to put Handsworth in command of the game.

It took until the 25th minute for Teversal to register their first shot on target, which was never troubling the goalkeeper.

And it was 3-0 just before the break as Parramore broke from a Teversal corner. A flick in by Lee Whittington to Warren Burrell sent him clear but his effort was saved by the keeper, only for Whittington to tap the ball into an empty net.

A string of changes were made by Parramore at HT, and they continued to dominate for the first 20mins of the second half.

It took until the 65th minute for Teversal to start making the game a close one, and they got their rewards on 69mins with a penalty, coolly dispatched by Lee Naughton. 3-1.

The game finished 3-1, a dominant display in all sense of the word. Promising signs for Parramore fans.

Key Players:
Sam Smith – presence up front, willing runner with good feet and an eye for goal. Handful.
Lee Whittington – very quick, intelligent with his runs and can finish.
