Where?
One of the benefits of the game is that is simple and fun and, if the interest is there, we would be looking to provide two marked pitches on the top field. (The area that has been recently drained).
The game can be played by adults and children and if the numbers allow we could be looking to make this competitive – much depends on what participants want.
Certainly this season is a taster and if we get sustained interest then we could be looking to entering teams into a local league in the future.
When?
We recognise that it would be sensible to run this on Tuesday and Thursday evenings say between 7.00 and 9.00 pm. From April 12th onwards. If you are interested then please sign the notices on the noticeboards around the club house, reply to this story on the website, press "attending" on the Facebook event or contact Jerry Birkbeck directly. Those of you who are members of Harbury RFC would be covered in terms of costs and insurance so there would be no joining fee. New members would pay a nominal fee to be determined.
Organisation
What I would like to do is to gain an idea as to numbers and whether it is a viable project. If it is then we would need to have a leader with a
UKCC Level 1 Course (1st4sport Certificate in Coaching Rounders) qualification. It is possible that someone may already have that. If not Rounders England and the Club would pay for the cost of undertaking this. I am quite willing to oversee the overall organisation of the project.
There is a poster on the noticeboard and beneath this a sheet for you to include your name and contact number, together with my e-mail address.
