Close but no cigar
Haringey v Hampstead
It was a glorious sunny Sunday, and the Rhinos arrived at the Heath with a solid squad. In the words of the Rhinos head coach Ballard, the girls switched on the the fire in the chest and the freezers in the head.
Haringey Rhinos ladies received the ball off Hampstead Ladies II's. The Rhinos crashed the ball up but were met with strong defence by Hampstead. The first half was full of solid attacking lines but met with spotless defence from both sides especially Rhinos Katy "Smash" Rogers who held strong in the face of adversity. Kate Glynn delivered a long distance kick to place the ball back into Hampstead's half, and a stellar tackle from captain Aimee Foulkes stopped a potential try, bringing the half time score to nil all.
With tensions high, Rhinos kicked off the second half and put the pressure on Hampstead. Hampstead broke through the line and scored their first try with a good run down the wing. A hard conversion to kick, the game quickly moved forward with the score at 5-0. Hampstead shortly scored their second try bringing the score to 12-0. With heads held high Rhinos continued to work their way down the field, although Rhinos came very close no tires where scored. Bringing the final score to 12-0.
