Scottish Rugby announced that Gavin Scott, the former Scotland A, Glasgow Warriors, Currie and Dundee High FP hooker (not to mention HARRIS FP BACKROW STALWART) – who has been the national team’s match analyst for the past ten years – is stepping up to the role of national team manager.
Gav (37) from Dundee, succeeds Dougie Potter, who has completed his 18-month contract in the post. Gav’s first job in his new position will be to manage the Scotland tour to Australia, Fiji and Samoa this summer.
Gav said: “I have enjoyed providing analysis support to the national team players and coaches and building performance analysis as a discipline in Scottish Rugby over the last ten years. I am looking forward to my new role supporting the national team beginning with three tough tests in the southern hemisphere this summer.”
A replacement for Gav as team analyst will be announced before the tour departs by the SRU.
