GEORGE EDWARD SMITH Passes Aged 91

5 months ago By Dave Shepherd

It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of George Smith father of Railways Commercial Manager Alan Smith

George has a long and distinguished history in Football in Harrogate and will be greatly missed. George lived adjacent to Station View and was a frequent visitor to our home fixtures.
However his main contribution to local football was up at Wetherby Road with Harrogate Hotspur who later became Harrogate Town. A deep felt and fitting tribute to George has been posted on the Harrogate Town Website, I would encourage everyone to follow the link to read his history in the game.

Everyone at Harrogate Railway would like to take this opportunity to offer our condolences to Alan and all his family. You are all in our thoughts at this sad time.

Georges funeral service will be held at Stonefall Crematorium on Monday 9th July at 1.40pm
