New Team Adoption

5 months ago By Dave Shepherd

As The Rail look to move the club forwards we're delighted to announce the addition of a New U23's side at Harrogate Railway.

This is for the forthcoming 2018/19 season, playing in the WRCFA U23's league.
The New Team is already well established after having a successful season as Knaresborough Town U21's. The New Railway U23’s will be managed by Colin Seal, who has extensive knowledge of youth and academy football through his work at National League side Guiseley and be assisted by Paul Barker.

Commenting on the news assistant manager Paul Barker said 'Both myself and Colin are thrilled to have been offered this opportunity at Harrogate Railway, our aim is to provide a link between youth and junior football at the club and the first team. There is now a clear pathway for all Railway players from Junior U8's to the Open Age First Eleven.
Last season many of The Rail U19's had to step up into the first team and while all adapted well, the jump from youth football to the NCEL Premier Division is quite a big one, we're looking to bridge that gap and ensure when their time comes, these lads are ready for the challenge.
We've been fully aware of the fantastic job Ray Green has done with the Railway Youth teams and look forward to see some of these players moving up with us.
From our original meeting with First Team Manager Brian Davey to the support we've already been shown by the Chairman, Secretary and everyone involved at Railway it's clear there is a lot of ambition at the club and building it within the community... and we can't wait to be part of an exciting new chapter in their history'

More information and player signings will be posted on the club website and twitter page as we build towards the new season.
