Rail Run Continues

The Rail continue their good form as they finish 2-1 victors against fellow strugglers Armthorpe Welfare FC this afternoon.

Rail starting brightly and force a couple of free kicks around the Welfare box but to no avail. Another Rail attack breaks down and as the ball is about to be cleared Jule Gabbiadini steals the ball controls and makes no mistake beating the keeper from 12 yards out.
1-0 Railway 8 minutes

Rail remain strong forcing a number of corners that are dealt with well by the Welfare defense. At the other end Morris heads off his line to keep the Rail in front after a good attack by Armthorpe.
Rail double their lead deservedly so on 40 minutes. David Brown doing great down the right squares the ball a cross but no one gets the telling touch. The ball comes to Fisher out on the left who lifts the ball into the box as a que of Railwaymen jump to score with Bromley getting the header neatly passed the Armthorpe stopper.
2-0 Railway 40 minutes and at half time.

Second half and the play is much more even with Armthrope showing their grit and determination to get back in the game. However it was a gift that lead to the Armthorpe goal as Denton heads back towards his keeper Wrigglesworth only to see it drop short and Mansaray is first to react and shoots home to half the deficit.
2-1 53 Minutes
Armthorpe enjoyed much more possession after the goal but it was Railway who had the better chances with Brown and Ovington both squandering good goal scoring opportunities.
A double sub for the Rail see’s Ovington & Bromley replaced by Greg Kidd and Paul Beesley.
Rail again carve out some good opportunities with Beesley blasting a rebound off the keeper only to see him recover and dive to deny him the goal. At the other end Armthorpe go agonisingly close as a blistering shot hits the post but Railway hang on again to take the full compliment of points and make that 4 wins in 5 games in the league.
