Highs and Lows of been a Rail Fan

Railway hit the two ends of the Footballing Spectrum from the heights of of a 6 – 2 win on Tuesday to the Lows of abject 5 – 0 defeat on Saturday.

Railway made just one change for their opening FA Cup encounter against old foe Thackley. New Signing Liam Chapman replaced injured Josh Radcliffe in the heart of the Rail defence. His baptism was one of fire, Railway struggled to cope with the desire and determination shown by the host club Thackley.

Liam Gray aside I have never seen so many good quality players have an off day all at the same time. Not wishing to take anything away from Dave Morgan’s Thackley side as they stuck to their plan and executed it with great effect. It was an embarrassing return to Dennyfield on a day that promised so much. Playing in the biggest football competition in the world gives every football supporter the dream of a cup run and the chance to see their side run out against bigger opposition. Our dreams are now on hold until next season.

Good Luck to Thackley against Marske in the next round, we’ll be rooting for you.
