Relocation News - Relocation - 30/3/12

Welcome to the new website page dedicated to all matters linked to the relocation of rugby from Claro Road. Over the past few months Club Chairman, Paul Barnard, has released a series of communiques to keep members updated with progress. After the progress made since Christmas it was felt appropriate to create this dedicated web page through which future information will be made available as we head towards the close of the current season and we make plans for a bright future ahead.
To start off the new page the following message has been provided by Paul Barnard:
Earlier this year we have entered into fixed term lease to continue using Claro Road; this lease expires on 31st of July 2013, clearly this is not a long way off.
You will recall that a Relocation Sub-group Committee has been formed and we have, in concert with Harrogate Borough Council and Crest, reviewed the 11 sites that had been presented for new outdoor sports provision in Harrogate BC’s “Local Development Plan (LDP)”. A joint response has been submitted to Harrogate BC regarding these sites.
It is fair to say that a huge amount of work is going on behind the scenes and we are exploring every relocation opportunity presented to the club diligently. Progress has been made and a suitable site has been identified and we are now working through the details to validate its suitability from the perspective of all parties.I will keep you posted as we progress to what we all hope is a positive outcome.
During this process I am pleased to report that our relationship with Crest has developed into a partnership as we work towards our shared objective of successfully relocating the club.
(Paul Barnard, Harrogate RUFC Chairman)
You will also have seen that the club is currently consulting on a new development plan and any member, friend, parent, player or interested party that would like to contribute to the consultation process is welcome to forward any comments through to the club using the following email address info@apexslm.com
Keep visiting this page for further updates on what will be an exciting time for the club in the coming months.
