Collection raises over £265 for injured player.

On Saturday at Rugby Clubs across Yorkshire a charity collection was organised on behalf of a young Keighley Crusaders player Nathan Cubitt, who suffered a serious spinal injury in a Colts League match on November 6th playing for his club.

Members of the Harrogate Colts volunteered to go round with the “collection buckets” as a number of them had played against Nathan in district matches when representing North Yorkshire.

Nathan also has a family connection with Harrogate as his uncle, Ronnie Kelly propped for our 1st team in the late 90s.

There was plenty of activity at Claro road with league matches for the First XV against Luctonians, Pythons v Hemsley whilst over at Granby the Pirates were entertaining Thirsk.

Thanks to the generosity of all, a fantastic sum of over £265 was raised that will go to a very deserving, if tragic, cause.

I am sure that everyone involved inside and outside the rugby community wish Nathan and his family the very best for the future.
