Club Coach Steps Down

Club looking for new coach

It is with great disappointment that I have to announce that after the most successful season in our history, Bob James the Club Coach has resigned from his post with immediate effect.

It became clear that there were serious divisons in the changing room that couldn't be resolved and in the end Bob decided that in the best interests of the Club it was better for him to step down now.

This was typical of a man who has given the Club so much, coaching both in the Junior and Senior Sections asking nothing for himself and always putting the Club first.

The players have faced up to the fact that they were less than honest in their dealings with him and that he deserved better than he got.

A thoroughly honest and decent man who never gave less than 100% Bob would be the first to admit that he needed more experience in dealing with adult players and that there were areas that he had to improve on to get the best oout of the players he was coaching but I am sure that if some of the issues that became apparent after the season finished had been properly addressed throughout the season we would not have reached this painful conclusion.

It was our intention to provide Bob with more support for the new season with amongst others a backs coach but in the end events progressed too far for this to happen.

He absolutely goes with my best wishes and thanks for everything that he has done for Harrow RFC and despite the manner of his departure, his achievements in coaching a team to the Herts/Middx 2 league title and taking a side to Twickenham cannot be dimminished.

A very sad end to a very unfortunate period and one in which this Club can take no pride.

We are now actively for a coach for the forthcoming season and if you know anyone who might be interested I would be grateful if you could put them in touch with me asap or provide me with their details
