A late, late goal from substitute Simeon Akinola earned Borough a vital victory. On a day that all the other clubs in the bottom six were beaten.
Dave Anderson was forced into one change as Aaron Tumwa was suffering an ankle injury, so he was replaced by Garry Jones at Left Back, JJ Bates was also preferred to Aryan Taj on the right side of midfield in the starting line up.

The first goalmouth action was as soon as the second minute. The Met had a free kick from wide on the left flank. Jack Bonham saved, but spilled the ball, then he did well to prevent the on rushing attacker from getting a shot on goal from the rebound.

Boro soon started to get a foothold in the game. Wolleaston & Wootton controlling the game in midfield. Steve Ferguson beat the left back & delivered a fine cross that Buckle headed narrowly wide. Soon after a classy move between Buckle & Ferguson put the Scotsman through on goal, Butler in the visiting goal was quickly off his line to block & a covering defender was on hand to clear the danger.

The Boys in Blue then threatened as a Tyron Smith header was saved by Bonham.
In the 25th minute Wolleaston went on a surging run, exchanged passes with Johnson, then hit a fine shot that Butler palmed away for a corner . Jones took the kick , Leech rose at the near post to flick the ball on for Danny Buckle to head firmly into the roof of the net for the opening goal.
The half continued with end to end play but neither keeper was tested again.

Aryan Taj was introduced in place of JJ Bates before the restart.
The early attacking play in the half was by the visitors only to find Walters & Leech in fine form . Soon Borough had a spell of pressure as they looked for the second goal. A dangerous Johnson cross was wasted as Ferguson & Wootton went for the same ball, Ferguson & Wootton then combined to set up a chance for Johnson who shot just over. Johnson had another cross charged down that went for a corner, from the resulting kick Leech powerfully headed towards goal only for a defender to clear off the line.

Midway through the half Chet Johnson was replaced by Simeon Akinola and Aryan Taj was cautioned for a trip on Met substitute Sam Hurrell. The visitors were now having their best spell & in the 73 minute a left wing cross by Hurrell bounced over one attacking player to Eddie Smith who headed home the equaliser. The home sides afternoon appeared to be spoiled further when Aryan Taj committed another foul on Hurrell & was sent off for a second yellow card.
Boro survived another Police raid before one last attempt to steal the points themselves . In the final minute a poor back pass by James Tyrell was intercepted by Akinola who was through one on one with Butler, the goalkeeper made a brave save but Akinola was first to react & prodded the ball home for the winner .

The win takes Boro up to 17th in the table, Six points above the drop zone. Harrow will hope to take this form into next Saturdays away game against 21st place Aveley
