Harrow Boro Under 23's 5 Hanwell Town 1
Boro made an excellent start in the first match in the new Middlesex FA under 23 league.
Both goalkeepers were kept busy in the opening 20 minutes, Kev Patel in the home goal making to excellent blocks with his legs & scrambling another Hanwell effort on goal around post.
The deadlock was broken after 37 minutes when a corner was half cleared to Excellence Muhemba & he smashed the ball home. The match remained a very even contest but right right on the stroke of half time Harry Rush extended the Boro lead.
Shortly after the break Harry Rush worked himself into the area to grab his 2nd of the night. Boro now started to play some very neat football & it was no surprise when they went further ahead, Excellence Muhemba scoring his second goal. Anthony O'Conner had stretched the Hanwell defence all evening & he was rewarded for his efforts, scoring the fifth goal.
A late Mitford strike was a consolation for Hanwell.
The game was an excellent contest through out , If future games in the Middlesex League are similar it will serve as a very useful competition for the club.
