Boro progressed to the quarter final of the London Senior Cup with an emphatic win at Imperial Fields.
Boro made a very good start, keeping the ball and passing neatly. Liam Sallis in the home goal had already been busy before George Moore opened the scoring in the 16th minute, Moore took control of the ball in the midfield, he carried it forward, then unleashed a powerful shot into the corner of the goal giving Sallis little time to react.
Boro kept up the pressure as another swift passing move freed Michael Bryan down the right wing his powerful low cross was meet by defender Tope Fadahunsi & an inrushing Lewis Cole, between them the ball was turned into the goal. 2-0 22 minutes played.
The action continued around the Tooting penalty area. Moss cut in from the left, his shot was blocked but he smartly controlled the rebound then fired a shot past Sallis to extend the lead (32 mins)
After a fairly slow start to the 2nd half Steve Baker made a triple substitution and ten minutes later one of those subs, Excellence Muhemba, put the visitors further ahead with a powerful shot in the 77th minute. The Boro defending become a little sloppy as Antonio Simeone found space to head in a goal for Tooting. Thirty seconds later the four goal advantage was restored as a through ball from Frank Keita to Dylan Kearney who’s control and execution was excellent, 5-1 82 mins.
Tooting kept working hard and were rewarded as substitute Stefan Ilic scored to make the final score Tooting & Mitcham 2 Harrow Borough 5
Boro will visit Clapton in the quarter Final, on a date to be decided
