At the JDR Cables Ball last Night Hartlepool Families First were named as this year charity another great cause by backed by JDR many thanks.

Hartlepool Families First information

Monday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Tuesday 8:00am to 8:00pm. Wednesday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Thursday 8:00am to 8:00pm. Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Saturday By arrangement. Sunday By arrangement.
Hartlepool Families First exists to improve the quality of life of children, young people and families through a range of social, welfare, educational measures. In particular we seek to address those who are living in disadvantaged areas including children and young people with disabilities.
The Playbus - Mobile resource offering a fun/safe/stimulating play opportunity for kids, clubs etc.
One77 - Centre for young people in Hartlepool. The vision that it will be a centre for young people's democracy, creativity, health and enterprise. The activities within the centre will reflect this ethos.
SPLAT! - The project supplies arts and crafts resources at reasonable prices. This includes recycled/reusable materials collected from local businesses and homes educating children about the environment.
Special Needs Home Support - An officer working with families of children with profound disabilities acting as an advocate where required. This may be ongoing intensive or one off support.
The HealthBus - A rejuvenated mobile resource providing information on a wide range of health issues. The Bus is staffed by a team of fully qualified nurses. The main work of the HealthBus is to offer a full lifestyle Audit which assesses an individuals chances of developing long term issues such as Cancer, Diabetes, Stroke, Heart Disease and Osteoporosis. We accompany this audit with blood pressure checks and cholesterol screening. In addition to this, we also offer sexual health advice, Chlamydia screening kits and condom distribution.
SNIPS Afterschool group - aimed at 5 to 18 yrs old
Each day afterschool we can collect your child from school, bring them to the Hartlepool Families First Centre, give them a healthy snack / meal, where they will then take part in stimulating and fun activities, such as craft, trips to the park, sports, light room, Wii, cooking and much more. At the end of the session, we will drop the child back to home (approx. 5.30pm to 6.00pm)
The Children’s Club - Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group - aimed at 3-12 yrs old
Held at Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group – planned programme of activities are: toy room, food taster sessions, crafts, cold cookery, sensory light room, music, dance, children’s entertainer, Wii, play station, computer, table and team games also themed evenings such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, picnic in park with sports. In addition to this, there will be visits to other venues occasionally at a weekend.
The Youth Group - Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group - aimed at 13 to 19 yrs old Held at Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group – social gathering with the following activities on offer: food taster sessions, crafts, cold cookery, sensory light room, music, dance, entertainers, Wii, play
station, computer, table and team games also themed evenings such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter. Occasional visits such as Flix cinema, bowling including food etc. Parents & carers invited to join the young people and be served refreshments i.e. summer strawberries.
STREET - running from One77, York Road, Hartlepool, - aimed at 12 to 19 yrs old
The young people engaged on the project are offered the same opportunities available to other children without SEN at other groups across the town, but with the support and environment which is conducive to children with ASD. Activities include (but are not limited to):cooking, karaoke and music, drum workshops, games and social interaction, homework support, indoor sports, arts, crafts and comic production
STREET Juniors – operating out of One77 and Hartlepool Families Frist – aimed at 5 to 11 yrs old
Based on the model used above, but for a young age group.
Football Skills – at Headland Sports Centre – aimed at 5 to 18 yrs old
The chance to take part in a weekly supported Football session. There will be qualified FA coaches and fully trained support staff.
FitKidz – based within Hartlepool Families First – sessions for younger and older children
Street Dance, in the main, used as a healthy exercise session. There is also a social element to this group where the participants get the chance to relax and hang out with friends. In the past, this group have also put on their own showcase dances for friends and parents.
Although each project has a guide age range, there is a degree of flexibility with these. If you would like to discuss this, then please contact the relevant organisation.
Booking to these activities are essential. You cannot simply turn up and expect to attend.

In addition to the above, there will be a number of full day activities that are to be organised for weekends. These will take place every fortnight and can be booked by parents and children on an ad-hoc basis.
