Hartlepool FC u/18s now playing in the Russell Foster Youth League started their season in great style with a 6-0 win over Fulwell FC from Sunderland at Grayfields.
The team containing 7 new players were missing goal machine John Stephenson who was away but this made no difference as all 16 players got game time in a great team effort.
Playing great football they took a 5-0 lead into the break debutant Jack Harrison scoring 2 well worked goals while first team squad member also on debut Euan Gordon scored while last season’s regulars Joe Carswell and James Dunn also scored.
Fulwell started the second half strongly putting FC under pressure who seemed to take their foot a bit but they stood firm with another debutant Adam Cowen being outstanding backed up by a solid back four FC regained control and another debutant Luke Chase added a sixth to complete the scoring.
Manager Tim Travis has a big decision to make next week at Lumley FC deciding on his starting eleven after this performance and hopes it’s the start of another good season.
