Only a excellent performance by the league leaders keeper denied us the win we deserved as we go down to a fluke free kick

For the visit of league leaders Jarrow FC after a having no midweek games we welcomed back John Stephenson ,Ash Turnbull, Euan Gordon and Dale Campion while from bans injury and holidays, while former player Rob Hammond started on the bench Ash Clark is on holiday
We started with 4- 18 year olds in the team a mistake by Josh Noble inside a minute nearly saw us go behind in a hard fought close game the first real chance came on 20 as Stephenson robbed the defender and broke clear by his weak effort was saved one handed by Wells who saved a Tumilty free kick on 27 then Blackburn , Tumilty and Stephenson had efforts blocked but 33 minutes we took the lead as Stephenson beat a defender to fire home both Gardner and Tumilty then hesitated and failed to take good chances it was1-1 on 38 minutes as a header from a cross looped over Noble but the key moment came on 45 minutes as Donaghy rose to win a header but to every one’s surprise the official awarded a free kick Burrells effort took a big deflection of the wall looped into the air hit the bar and dropped into the net giving the leaders an undeserved lead.
We dominated the second half as Blackburn twice was just over Stephenson and Tumilty had efforts blocked and Wells made two excellent one handed saves from Campion of the bench after a good run and Weatherill after a good header no matter how we tried the ball would not go in but the best chance late on fell to Gardner who was left clear in the box but once again Wells saved
A game we should have won once again we failed to take three one on one’s but conceded a fluke goal from a free kick that should never have been given but found Wells in great form for Jarrow so much was our second half dominance that Noble only had 1 regular to save.
