One of those days , depleted team hit bar and post and lose 2 goal lead and see a great lob bounce over the bar in added time

For the visit of 3rd top Boldon CA we were looking for revenge after our league defeat 2 weeks ago
Paul Donaghy, Craig Weatherill, Ash Turnbull, Mattie Gardner , Cameron Gordon and Andy Blackburn returned . Joe Osbourne Jonny Murray, John Stephenson, Euan Gordon, Rhys Tapner Phil Wilson from the midweek team were missing while Chris Tarn and Mattie Hughes returned to Darlington RA
18 year old Josh Noble made his debut in goal as we started with only 3 of the midweek team Jamie Tumilty was inches wide with an early effort and Andy Blackburn also was wide as Boldon headed over and Noble made a good stop, as the game settled Tumilty the hit the bar from the edge of the box and Donaghy brought out a good save then a great run by Blackburn sent Tumity clear the striker tried to place the ball in the corner but hit post and the ball rebounded clear we did go in front on 44 minutes a great 30 yard cross field ball by Donaghy saw Weatherill win the race wide out to turn the ball home for a half time deserved lead.
We went 2 up on 50 minutes a great strike by Ash Cark from 25 yards into the top corner from a loose ball Boldon started to up there game as a Clark corner came of the bar and was scrambled clear another corner was a scramble again .
On 61 minutes Boldon pulled one back a corner from the right was missed by everybody and came back of the bar to be scrambled home, Tumilty then had a chance but failed to make good contact and the keeper saved Gardner was just wide as Tumilty was inches wide again after good play by Clark .
It was 2-2 on 74 minutes another corner and another header the game was now wide open as both teams were tiring playing their 4th game in 8 days Tumilty was then inches wide it seemed it was not going to be the young strikers day and so it proved as deep into along ball down the right saw Tumilty win the race with the keeper wide out hitting a first time over the keeper that looked the match winner but the ball bounced 2 yards out and over the bar the striker could not believe his luck another day he could have had 4 or 5.
We would have taken a point with the depleted squad before the game but in the end could have had all 3 as the Boldon manager thought we had edged it manager Terry Hill was again solid at the back standing in.
