One to forget
Our worst performance this season could have been 5 down at H/T conceded 2 in 2nd half enough said
For our third game with Stokesley SC so far this season Luke Naylor is injured requiring stitches to his leg wound Dean Cope ankle and Matty Gardner were also out ,Lee Jones ,Dale Campion and Ash Clark returned on the bench
We gained a 7-1 win in the home league game and 3 days later an away cup win 3-2 the home team have signed 3 or 4 players latterly and have shown improved form so a hard game is in prospect, last year we led 1-0 at the break after dominating when the lights failed in the replay a few weeks later on a wild and windy night we lost 4-2 and paid the price of missing several great chances while poor defending both teams was responcable for all the goals
We made a poor start and Elliot Coils made 2 point blank stops from corners as the home teams long balls were causing us problems they kept getting in behind us and making easy chance 4 of which should have been goals as we were slow and lethagic and second best all over the pitch on 40 minutes we got our one and only chance of the half as Tumilty broke clear but his shot was blocked by the keeper and came back to him but it got caught up under his feet and trickled wide for some how a goalless first half.
we made a better start in the socond half but finally fell behind on 53 minutes as we were caught out again and the home striker was left unmaked this time he made no mistake.
Tumilty then charged a clearance down but once again got his feet caught under the ball with Blackburn unmarked at the back post ,Blackburn then set up Tumilty but fired well over it was one of those nights for striker on 60 minutes Jones ,Campion and Clark came of the bench as then both Jones and Blackburn started to create chance but we seemed to take one touch to much and had efforts blocked we had 3 good chances but fired straight at the keeper. On 80 minutes a long ball caught us out and Coils raced well out his box in a race with the striker who just beat himm to ball to score from wide
We forced several corners late on but never got the final touch then in the last minutes Clark chase down a ball but tackle o the full back saw him red carded a tackle made in sheer frustration to end a dismal night.
