Following the conclusion of the season, Hartlepool RFC would like to say a massive thank you to all of our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters

The 2014/15 season has been a success on all fronts – from Under 6 right through to the 1st XV.

The senior teams have made great progress both in terms of league position and performance but also in regards to player recruitment & retention. We are continually impressed by the effort, commitment and dedication of our players and management.

Mini & Junior Rugby at Mayfield Park has continued to flourish not just in terms of performance and increasing player numbers but most importantly in terms of enjoyment.

Our participation figures this season have exceeded all expectations giving us our largest player base for many years. Long may it continue as we move forward and grow as a community rugby club.

An Under 13 team has been recently added to our ranks and huge credit must go to their coaching team for this. Next season we will be able to offer rugby to all ages for the first time which is a huge step in the right direction.

The U11 and U15 teams toured Cumbria in April and were both commended in equal measure by accommodation and opposition a like. Touring is an invaluable rugby and social experience for any team so we congratulate all of the coaches, players and their families for making both trips so enjoyable and memorable.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate Adam Williamson, Jack Cooper and Thomas Lister on achieving representative honours with Durham County. Many more players from our excellent Mini & Junior Rugby programme are sure to follow in their footsteps in the future.

The club could not function without the tireless work undertaken by our army of willing volunteers who help make rugby union the sport it is and we would like to express our appreciation to you all.

A big thank you must also go to the supporters of all teams that attend both home and away fixtures in great numbers – we know all the players and coaches really appreciate the encouragement from the touchline and the extra assistance that you provide.

Success has also been achieved off the field with a grant for new floodlights secured and an exciting new community partnership with Hartlepool & District Hospice just two of many positive announcements.

Before we return for the 2015/16 campaign we have a programme of events running throughout the summer for you to get involved with including a Question of Sport Quiz, Festival of Rugby / Family Fun Day, Hospice It’s A Knockout Tournament and a night of live music.

Further details of all upcoming events can be found via this link - http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/hartlepoolrfc/calendar/

This coming Sunday we would like players and coaches from all age groups to meet at the club at 9.15am for a whole club photograph. Following the photograph everyone is invited to join Lee Dodgson in running 3 miles on the final day of his 7 marathons in 7 days challenge.

You have all played your part this season and made a huge contribution to the wonderful feeling around Mayfield Park. We look forward to a positive future together.
