USA Tour 2018 - Boston & New York
Next week we will jet off to the USA for a seven day tour that will see us visit two of the country’s greatest cities.
On 28th March the 26 strong tour party fly out to Boston for a three night stay that includes a fixture against the Boston Irish Wolfhounds.
The following Saturday we will then make the 5 hour journey by bus to New York City where we will stay for the remaining four nights.
Our second game will see us hop across the North River to New Jersey where we will face off against the Union County Rugby Mudturtles.
In between the rugby there will be the opportunity to visit some of the most iconic landmarks that both locations have to offer. Including Faneuil Hall Market Place, Fenway Park & Cheers Bar in Boston and the 9/11 Musuem, Empire State Building & Statue of Liberty in New York.
Director of Rugby, Liam Lester, said: “The USA tour is sure to be a fantastic and memorable experience for all those involved. It is another great demonstration of the ambition within the club and follows hot on the heels of our recent Under 14 tour to Dubai.
“We have a great tradition of touring all over Europe but 2018 will see us break new ground as we represent the club on other continents for the first time.
“We’re really looking forward to the fixtures in both cities, and of course the post-match hospitality that the host clubs have lined up for us. Hopefully we can play our own small part in helping to grow the game while we’re there too.
“As we get set to celebrate our 125th Anniversary next season, this really is an exciting time to be part of Hartlepool Rugby Club.”
