Ancient History
Hartshorne Cricket Club (HCC) was first formed in 1894, where there is evidence of two different sides playing cricket in Hartshorne. This continued until the outset of World War I when the teams disbanded whilst local villagers were called for duty. The lack of cricket in the village continued until after World War II and it wasn’t until the early 1950’s that Hartshorne Cricket Club officially re-formed. The Club moved to the current Rodney Meadows ground (to the rear of the Admiral Rodney public house) in 1962.
