H&D Mo Bros
During November 2011, for the second year running Harwich and Dovercourt Rugby Club members formed a Movember team to support the International Movember appeal for prostate cancer research.
The team was captained by Sean Mills and recruited over 60 other club members and friends during the month including the Chairman, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. Each member has their own page on the Movember web site where donations can be made electronically to individuals or the team.
The whole team started clean shaven at the beginning of November unshaven for the whole month Mos ranged from the minimal to magnificent; they were as wide ranging as the amounts collected which were between miserly to majestic.
teams travelling supporters matched their Mos with tweed, corduroy and cravats for all the clubs matches collecting donations from opponent club supporters and players.
On the 26th Nov H&D hosted a Mo-Party, which was a great success, Mo-Bros turned up to show off their growth and raised a total of £704 on the night.
The total raised during the month was £8194.00 making H&D R.U.F.C the 2nd top fund raising sports team during Movember, second to QPR Football Club.
Well done to everyone who was involved, we hope to have you onboard again next year.
