Chairmans notes ahead of todays Home game V Askern FC

Hello and Welcome to todays Central Midlands North game v Askern FC.
Its been an incredibly frustrating time for all associated with the club and im sure around the Non league circuit in general as the Weather is now simply doing peoples heads in, it resulted in our game on the 10th being postponed and that was scheduled to be replayed Tuesday just gone which again we lost to the rain, we are quite fortunate with our pitch and I was surprised that the game was off Tuesday but we have had an awful lot of rain and you only have to look at the Junior pitches that are under water to realise what we have had.
Today is Forecast to be a hazy Spring like day of Zero so we see no end to it at the moment but lets hope that last Tuesday is the last cancellation we have, the management along with everyone else are incredibly frustrated I know and I wasn't at the Welbeck Game but we got the result but not the performance and after a game like that you want to get another one as soon after as possible and get it out of the System, well they have had to wait three weeks so lets hope all the lads are chomping at the bit.
Since our last game Lee has brought in Liam Kay as Asst Manager of the Reserves to work alongside Nick and Dan, having met with Liam I am delighted to have him with the club and brings a wealth of experience having played at an excellent level, welcome on board Liam.
Last week I attended the 1sts training and was delighted to see numbers in excess of 20 as Lee and all the Management have welcomed all up and it was refreshing to see, in the past players have had excuses and a them and us attitude, this couldn't be further from the truth and if certain players grab this opportunity they have a chance of getting into the 1st team Squad, it was great to hear Lee’s comments in the changing rooms about being one club as sometimes it falls on deaf ears from myself, everyone has the chance now its upto those to grab it with both hands, anyway lets finally enjoy some Football and get back to the Job in hand and that’s getting points on the board and maintaining that Top Spot, enjoy the Game everyone.
