Chairmans notes ahead of todays Home game V Staveley MW Reserves

Hello and Welcome to todays rearranged Central Midlands North game v Staveley MWFC. The countdown now is very much on as we approach the last 6 games of the season and with this being our penultimate home game its vital that we take the maximum points on offer. Those words are incredibly easy to type too easy as with a lot of social media writing means nothing its doing that counts, last week paid testament to that, everyone looking at it would think bottom of table v top they have nothing to play for but pride but boy did they play and im sure those at Welbeck who have endured some terrible times of late results wise must look forward with some heart if there team can perform to that level every week.
Every game has its own importance none more so than the other, the three points today are the same three points on offer in our remaining games and we must solely focus on right now and not get concerned about what is happening elsewhere or what may happen in the future, the Gael clichy of all clichés one game at a time and I know Lee and the lads will be saying the same thing.
One huge omission today is Mark, we wish him a speedy recovery with a sinus operation he had in the week, he’ll be kicking every ball im sure and I know Paul will be busy on the phone to him, but its about the process and not the personality, we have had win games when others have been missing and today is no different.
Staveley will come today im sure feeling a little aggrieved, I was at the game at the beginning of the season and they was great value for their lead and had a player incorrectly sent off in the game, lets say we got away with that one but we must take full advantage and ensure them 3 points are locked in come 16:45.
On a separate note I am delighted to welcome Tom Crossland DCM at Wincanton as Match Day Sponsors, Tom arranged through Bren for a new sit down Mower to be donated to the club, this is a huge saving to the Sports and Social Club who look after the pitches and one which we are all very thankful for, enjoy the day Tom, and everyone else try and get through the 90 as best you can, I will mainly be clinging onto the railing near the Cabin hopefully not pulling whats left of my hair out, all the very best Lads and safe trip home to all from Staveley MW.
Cheers Jonny
