With Harworth in the bottom two at present and Skegness a place above them, this was a proverbial six pointer.
A scrappy and nervous opening saw neither side produce anything of note to suggest they could gain a much needed victory.
Things looked to have swung in Harworths favour on 13 minutes when Ben Partridge was through and was fouled in the penalty area. Sam Foulds stepped up and his penalty was saved by James Lambley in the Skegness goal. The game saw few efforts in front of goal and at times Skegness had ten men behind the ball and were reliant on breakaways. The one plus of an otherwise dull first half was Harworths Sean Ebbs who seemed to be everywhere.
The second half saw both sides continue to be as ineffective as before and Harworth seemed to have lost their ability to shoot at goal and opted for a passing game which didn’t work at all.
With both teams cancelling each other out the game seem destined to end goalless. Skegness stunned the home supporters on 81 minutes to take the lead when James Wroot found himself unmarked and his shot from 6 yards opened the scoring. This seemed to bring Harworth out of their slumber and they pushed forward to try to level the score. With 90 minutes played substitute William Britton ran into the penalty area to shoot home and seal the victory.
