Colliery in seventh Heaven as new Striker Sam un-foulds a first half hat trick in the new management teams 1st game proper in charge.

It took the Colliery just six minutes to open the scoring, Shaun Mundy tapping in at the back post. The rest of the first half belonged to debutant Sam Foulds who scored a first half hat trick. Mundy set up his strike partner for his first, Jordan Hardman then delivered an excellent cross from the right which Foulds powerfully headed home, and a couple of minutes later a mistake from the keeper saw Foulds add his third, and send Harworth in four nil up at the break.
Foulds nearly got his forth at the start of the second half, heading over a Josh Davies corner, but then the visitors improved and asked questions of the home defence, but they stood firm and bar from one effort which came back of the cross bar, Jones in the Colliery goal was untroubled. On eighty minutes captain Lee Edmondson finished well after good work by Lewis Francis and Dinnington resistance ended. On eighty five minutes, Gary Mundy headed home a Davies corner and two minutes later the scoring was completed by Shaun Mundy who added his second and the Colliery's seventh. With second place Bentley suffering a surprise home defeat, it leaves the Colliery ten points clear at the start of 2018. A good crowd again of eighty plus on a cold day shows things are going in the right direction, although we did seem to take our foot of the pedal for the first thirty of the second half, but some credit has to go to our visitors for that. Still it’s another three points and a good start for Lee and Tom and also new signing Sam.
Vice Chairmans player of the Month for December was awarded to both Shaun Mundy and Jonno Bownes, ones been banging them in at one end and the other has been stopping them going in at the other, lets hope the fine form Continues, well done lads and Vice Chairman for the Generous prizes.
Congratulations to our Under 11's who won their Autumn league this season and then the weekend got even better as the ladies beat Steel City Wanderers in the Sheffield County Cup, the result is even better given the fact they play two leagues above by 4-1 and has now produced a mouth watering tie V Huddersfield Town Ladies in the next round, well done to all involved.
