Harworth Colliery FC received the news they had been waiting for on Friday to confirm promotion to the NCEL Division one.

Friday morning the FA sent the club the news they had been waiting for which was of course confirmation of promotion to the Northern Counties East Division One.
Some felt this was a foregone conclusion after winning the Central Midlands North division but with the reshaping of the leagues above it wasnt until we had this rubber stamped that we could say for sure that we are a NCEL outfit once again.
We return to the NCEL for the first time in 32 years after leaving in 1986 to be a part of the then new Central Midlands League and our departure this season from them brings to an end the longest continuos membership at first team level by any club, we are of course proud of that fact and thank the CML for those 32 Years but the time is right for the club to now move on.
For the last four Seasons the club have applied for promotion and committed all our resources to getting the ground ready and for this we should all be very proud, the management in that time have worked hard also to put a squad together to also enable us to do that and the two have come together this season and we leave the Central Midlands as we had always hoped through the front door.
This will be a great challenge for everyone associated with the Club and are all extremely excited by this, we will strive to make further improvements off the field too as this must happen and also invest time and resources to Youth development and will announce soon the pathway for players for next season and the coming seasons after that.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this happen including the FA and the NCEL, our sponsors, Supprters, volunteers, Committee, Managemement and Players, we have all worked as one to acheive the same goal and i for one am proud of everyone of you. Onwards and Upwards, Viva Colliery.
