Preview to all this weekends action at the Colliery

Another very busy weekend ahead with 6 of our 7 teams in action and all three Senior Saturday teams playing.
The 1at team are up against the Phoenix, no its not Brian Potter Ray Von and Gerry St Clairs lads it’s the team from Brinsworth and we face them at home after playing them just 6 weeks ago, beating them 7-0 on the day.
We fully expect a much tougher game this time round as since then they have put a good run of results together but the Colliery will be hoping to get on a bit of a run ourselves after just 2 points from our last three games, the lads will also be hoping to go into the Semi Final of the Northern Section of the Floodlit Cup on Tuesday V Ollerton in good heart so it should a good encounter and as ever of you can get down and support the lads it is always hugely appreciated
Mark will be taking charge of the reserves for the first time in nearly a month after weather postponements and recent Coaching Courses has seen him away from the team, he will oversee the Reserves play away at Pinxton a team a few places below the Reserves who currently lie in 4th position, with just 6 games left of the season Mark will see this as a must win if we are to have any chance of the league but as they have shown they are more then capable of going on a run and anything could happen.
The Colts after last weeks victory in the Semi Final of the Cup will be in buoyant mood as they take on MLB Academy at home, this is Jay Bownes team a player very well known to us and of course who does the coaching courses during school breaks, the colts was defeated last time round 2-1 to a good young side so sure to be a close affair again, we are likely to see a lot more of MLB Academy as they have applied for the Central Midlands League next Season so we wish them all the best just not today.
Both senior Sunday sides are also in action, Pav Utd take on Three Lions away from home and the Pav find themselves 1 place above Three Lions so all to play for, they was on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat last time out after being 2-0 up at half time so will be looking to exact some revenge.
The MUSC are at Home against the Liberal Branch three places above the MUSC, Gregs boys was put to the sword 7-2 last time out and after a tough defeat last week to The Blues Club over 35’s they will be hoping to find a performance we all know they are capable of, consistency as ever has been lacking but they have a lot to look forward to in both cup competitions but must start to find some form in the League else they could find themselves in finishing in the bottom half of the table for some time.
No Game this week for Grahams Under 14’s so they can look forward to the semi final they have next week against Ordsall Rangers, however Daves Under 13’s continue on the march for the League title with a Home Game V Carcroft Village Juniors, they have just 4 games left and so every game now is vital to them, we wish them all the best as we do all our teams, as ever get down and support the lads they deserve it.
