Full round up from this weekends action by Paul Latham

Three senior sides in action this weekend and for the first time in a long while no victories to report. The reserves were the first to get the ball rolling with a 2pm kick off and by the sounds of it were unfortunate to concede a last minute penalty which saw them lose by four goals to three to AFC Kilburn. Joe Colman, Mick Wibberley and Connor Brown were the Colliery goal scorers.
An hour later and the first team kicked off away at Staveley Miners Welfare reserves in what was to prove a hard fought game. The visitors were grateful to Jordan Hardman who cleared a header from a corner off of the line. The Colliery then had two good chances of their own, but both Mackenzie Tomlinson and Shaun Mundy took to long with their efforts and the defence got back to clear. Tomlinson then brought a good save from the home keeper, and Mundy was then denied a clear penalty that somehow both officials failed to see. Staveley reminded the Colliery they were still in the game, a header from a free kick just going over. Last real action of the half saw Sam Foulds having his shot saved by the home keeper.
Dan Jones in the Harworth goal produced a fine save at the start of the second half, tipping over a long range effort, before a flowing move by the visitors saw them create a good chance for Foulds who shot over from a good position. Tomlinson then saw his effort saved, before on sixty six minutes the Colliery took a deserved lead. Good work by Lee Edmondson saw him set up S. Mundy who fired a powerful shot into the corner. The away side should have put the game to bed five minutes later, when Tomlinson went through one on one, but his effort was saved and it was to prove costly as moments later, the visitors failed to clear a corner and Danny O’ Donnel was on hand to put the loose ball home. The Colliery tried to snatch a late winner, but Josh Davies had two fine efforts go just wide or saved by the home keeper.
Another fine performance from the Colliery to reward another good following by the away faithful. Disappointing that we could not take the three points which we probably deserved, but it was one of those days when the keeper played well and the finishing should have been better (Askern away, Brodsworth at home springs to mind). Still with other results going our way, with the other top sides losing or drawing, not to much damage done. The next two games though, Tideswell at home and Clay Cross away will go a long way to show how our promotion ambitions stand.
Sunday saw our ladies entertain Millmoor Juniors and with less than thirty minutes on the clock found themselves five one down after some pretty poor defending to say the least. The girls though rallied and managed to get the score back to five four, but they could not find that elusive equaliser.
