The mood at 9.30am on a cold windy morning in Regents Park was very subdued. We were all finding it difficult to get motivated and this showed on the pitch with Hawks going down by 3 goals. We had quite a few chances but the West London goalie was finding them easy to save and we couldn’t get a goal! We finally managed to get a goal back with some great saves from Nat and blocks from Debs S and Sam but the first half finished 4-1 to West London.

We definitely needed half time to get our heads back in it, with some great motivation from Debs and Michelle. Fortunately we lived up to our reputation of second half Hawks. Switching the draw definitely paid off with Hawks coming out with the ball almost every time; well done to Emma, Michelle and Becca. The first half started perfectly with Hawks playing the best lacrosse in the Rosebowl this year and getting 3 goals in quick succession. We also did some excellent “rides” and pressuring of the ball in midfield making it very difficult for West London to get the ball into their attack.

With a couple of minutes to go, Hawks were down by one goal. But we kept working hard and Laura was awarded a free position in the last few seconds. Thankfully she did a great shot (even though we were all shouting pass - sorry Laura!) to take us to 7 goals each.

Well done to everyone who played and contributed to this great result. Thanks for the support from the parents, Charlotte and Anneka!
