ITALIAN FERRETTI CUP EXPERIENCE FOR OUR U15 EJA SQUAD - OCTOBER 2018
Sixteen HRFC U15 EJA players plus five members of staff enjoyed four days away taking part in the 3rd Ferretti Cup 2018 in Rimini, Italy.
For players born 2003/2004 our U15 EJA team travelled abroad to compete in this Pro-Academy tournament/competition against strong opposition but also as an exercise to strengthen the squad via social interaction for team bonding.
The travelling players that took part were Louie Bampton; Lloyd Blackburn; Jayden Cohen; Kyle Cohen; Reon Huckvale; Billy Hunt; Gabriel Mason; Dillon Ollias; Bart Purser; Oliver Santry; Leon Scarlett; Oliver Scroggie; Callum Stone; Spencer Sykes; James Tatum and Lewis Winnington.
The staff were Peter Betts (team manager and football development manager); Barbara Jones (club secretary); Kayleigh Steed (coach); Alastair Shulver (Chairman/tour physio); Jemel Fox (U18’s manager/coach).
Group A consisted of Haverhill, Savignanese, and Cesena whilst Group B consisted of Fano, Rimini, And Northampton.
Although the lads did not win any games their results did not reflect how well they played and how hard they fought. All staff would agree that they did their best and we are proud of them. They were good ambassadors for the club and it was great to see each players individual characteristics shine and over the four days their social skills develop without the use of of a mobile phone!
We all stayed in the Kursaal Hotel in Cattolica, Rimini, Italy and had daily coach transfers to the fixtures.
