The hosts couldn’t find the net in the opening period, Owen Longley
having two chances separated by just 40 seconds but the Kedington goalkeeper used his legs and then his hands to deny him from opening the scoring.
Haverhill also had a stonewall penalty not awarded after 41 minutes.
After Tom Newman had hit the bar with a 15 yard volley ten minutes after the break the hosts went ahead in the 59th minute, Branham Ince’s volley from the edge of the area with the outside of his right boot going out of the ‘keeper’s reach, off the inside of the far post and into the netting on the opposite side of the goal.
Longley’s headed from a corner ended up half way up the near right post in 61 minutes before he finally netted after 65, Newman’s pass inside allowing Longley to turn his marker before tucking the ball into the bottom left hand corner.
Some poor marking and positioning by the hosts saw Kedington grab a goal back in the 72nd minute but, two minutes later, Will Bailey rode 3 tackles, went past a fourth defender and then beat the ‘keeper at the near left post to restore the two goal advantage.
