HAVERHILL ROVERS 0 GREAT YARMOUTH TOWN 0
Haverhill picked up a useful point with their first draw in two and a half months against sixth placed Yarmouth, who had only lost one game in their previous seven and were held goal less for the first time in ten weeks.
THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
It was a game that, as can be predicted by the score line, saw home goalkeeper Charlie Turner
and away shot stopper Jack Whatmough rarely troubled, although they were aware enough when trouble did come their way.
Two first half free kicks by Luke Haines caused trouble in the Yarmouth area in the hosts’ best chances of the opening period, the first being spilled by Whatmough and, in the split second the ball was loose, Jonathan Milne was unable to find the target and put the ball wide of the near left post from close range at full stretch.
The second of these free kicks was also spilled but Whatmough was able to collect the ball this time around.
The second period again rarely saw either side looking like scoring, Turner pulling off a good save to deny Yarmouth in between a crouching header by Milne always going off target and a 20 yard effort by home substitute Will Gardner going over the bar near the end.
