Thetford Town v Haverhill Rovers
Haverhill converted one of the few chances that came their way to take all 3 points at Thetford, who will count themselves unlucky
after having a fair few chances themselves.
Jordan Rocastle had no luck in front of the away goal, curling an early shot wide and hitting the side netting amongst chances he had in the first half.
What was the only goal of the game came in the 32nd minute following some good battling down the right by Paul Abbott and Dan Cornwell, the latter hooking in a perfect cross at full stretch from the bye line right of goal towards Luke Parkinson, whose unmarked header went into the ground and then the roof of the net at the far post.
The hosts were unlucky not to get a penalty, a handball in the area by Sam Holmes somehow missed by everyone on the field bar one Thetford player.
The second half had only a handful of opportunities for either team, Ben Robinson going close twice for Haverhill and Rocastle's low shot bringing a good save out of goalkeeper Jamie Greygoose, but the travellers held on for the win.
