Haverhill Rovers would today like to announce the return of local favourite MARC ABBOTT back to the football club.

Marc will be undertaking the role of 1st team coach and combining this with playing duties for the 1st team.

Marc has spent the last few seasons playing at Saffron Walden FC but in this time, has remained as ever present at The New Croft coaching various children and teams across our large Community Club and has made an enormous impact in this time.

Marc has made sure whilst playing over the past few years, he has been educating himself via various FA Coaching qualifications and courses which will aid him being even more successful in his new role.

Ben Cowling the 1st team manager highlighted to the club in the last quarterly football strategy review that he wanted to add and improve the level of coaching available for players within the senior set up and with Saffron Walden kindly waiving the clubs approach, he has got his man.

Marc will also be working very closely outside of his 1st team coaching duties with our club mentor Dan Pilcher in the coming months as the club has some exciting new developments on the horizon from U6s all the way up to the 1st team, so watch this space !!

The club believe with this appointment it provides much needed stability and alongside Ben, Rod, Tim and Dan we now have an excellent group of local people with a range of different skill sets and opinions to be able to support both the player’s development and as importantly bring success to the football club over the next few years.

Haverhill Rovers have always outlined the need to have the best local people involved with the football club and believe they now have a group that won’t just provide success but will buy into the club’s philosophies and this group of staff will act as role models within our large Community Club which is a vital ingredient for any individual working within our football club.

We wish Marc every success in his new role…….
