Ashley Byrne Tribute

Hawarden Rangers FC are extremely saddened by the news that former player Ashley Byrne has passed away.

A Manchester United fan, Ashley, 22, played for the club from the age of eight until 15.

Between the ages of 11 and 15 he also played on a trial basis for Everton, Manchester United and Tranmere Rovers.

As a senior, he was a member of Mancot’s White Bear squad and spent some time at New Brighton Villa under ex-Rangers Reserves boss Mike Phythian.

He was renowned as a prolific striker with a superb eye for goal.

Current Reserves coach Dave Ephraim, who was Ashley's manager throughout his time as a junior player for the club, said: "He was a fantastic lad and an absolute pleasure to know. He will be sorely missed."

Our thoughts are with his family, girlfriend Katie and daughter, Lillia, who is six-months-old.
