Message from Mark Newey, Chairman HHRFC

As we come to the end of a calendar year, it's time to reflect on a rollercoaster twelve months for Heath. I feel that we end this year in a better place having taken a step back at senior level in order to regroup and move forwards, and in so doing we have sought to reignite pride in the Club and a renewed energy amongst our players and supporters. One of the joys of rugby is that it unites us all throughout the Club and the wider rugby community as one big family and it is important that we hold true to the values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship - whatever the result on the pitch. I am proud that Heath continues to strive to fulfil these goals at every level of senior, junior and mini rugby.

To celebrate the new year we have an exciting Bob Rogers Cup match at Whiteman's Green next week - Heath v Uckfield 1 on Saturday 3 January with pre-match lunch sponsored by Haywards Heath Blazers & Vets. This will be a great way to provide support for the squad and mark the start of the RWC2015 year.

We are also using this occasion to support Aspire - the important charity that supports those with spinal cord injury from injury to independence. As a Club we want to make sure that Aspire can continue its terrific work and support the many people who have to deal with devastating, life changing injuries each year - a number of whom are very close to our rugby family.

The game is due to KO at 1.45pm so join us after midday for a glass of bubbly - lunch will be served at 12.15pm - lunch is just £20/head.
To book your place(s) email Sarah Fry at sf@hhrfc.co.uk or call 07977530663 by 10am TUESDAY 30 DECEMBER.

I really hope to see as many as possible of our members and friends at lunch, on the touchline and afterwards in the Clubhouse next weekend. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
