Heath V Eastbourne 15/10/17
Heath forwards dominate in a game to be won or lost in the margins
Heath boys came out fighting in a great friendly against Eastbourne. Dominating in the forwards and showing improved discipline in the mid-field, their weeks of training paid off as they swung the ball down the line in a game that was to be won or lost in the margins.
At half time Heath were winning 12-10. Will Goodwin had a fantastic game, flying forward to score between the posts and making the conversion. Ollie Owens showed his metal as flanker, throwing himself into contact and reliably finishing at the try line.
After half time, Eastbourne made good use of their larger squad numbers by bringing on fresh legs whilst Heath, with reduced numbers due to injuries, struggled to close down their revitalised backs.
But with characteristic grit, the lads played right to the whistle and Bobby Collins powered through at their 5 metre line to make one final try before full time. A sound performance from every individual, showing how the team is coming together and putting their training into practice even under pressure.
