Development Squad draw a blank

The game started quite nervously for both teams and both sides really struggled to get a hold of the game. Heanors best effort came from a corner with Sam Alcock’s header hitting the post. Heanor did have chances in the final third, however the decision making and the desire seemed to have deserted the forward line on a number of occasions. Half Time 0-0

The second half started with AFC Mansfield starting to creep back into the game some fantastic defending by the whole of the back four really kept Heanor in the game and an heroic clearance off the line by Captain Jack Saxton, which looked certain to roll into the net just summed up the discipline and professionalism showed by the defence on the night.

AFC Mansfield had a player sent off with 10 minutes to go which started a surge of attacks by Heanor, Liam King shooting over from 35 yards and later Chris Gilson coming close after some good work by Oliver Naylor. The game ended goalless. FT AFC Mansfield 0 vs Heanor Town 0
