HEANOR TOWN FC CLUB STATEMENT

Supporters and followers of Heanor Town FC,

Heanor Town FC would like to clear up any potential confusion or disappointment before this weeks edition of Ripley and Heanor news is printed.

After each game we record a podcast and on Saturday manager Glen Clarence said, "That second half is the worst second half I have managed in ten years"
The quote can be heard between 46 and 53 second on the podcast, found HERE

The sport team at Ripley and Heanor news wish to run the headline 'Worst game in 10 years' against the request of Heanor Town FC

This is the same newspaper that edited the score line of the fixture against Liversedge at The Town Ground, taking the goal scored by Sean Gregory out of the report.

I am sure you will all agree that although the football lacked entertainment and desire on Saturday that is it certainly not the worst game played at The Town Ground in the last ten years.
It serves injustice to the strides made by the current owners and management team who have effectively brought the club up to date in a two year spell.

At a point of the season where all non-league clubs are looking to gain sponsorship, secure new signings for the new campaign and aiming to attract new support through the gates this headline can only damage a club the size of Heanor Town FC.

I have contacted the sports editor of the already mentioned newspaper requesting a change in head line.
Will they deliver?

Press Officer, Heanor Town FC
