NEW RESERVE TEAM MANAGEMENT APPOINTED

Heanor Town FC have made the move to replace former reserve team manager Dave Barber.
After Barber resigned at the beginning of last week the post was made open for applicants, attracting a strong calibre of coaches interested in the position.
The club are proud to announce that Scott Rogers was offered the position of manager, he will be assisted by Chris Seale in a new look management team.
Rogers saw his footballing career effectively ended in the FA Vase 2nd Round fixture against Coleshill Town FC in November 2014, he had only been on the pitch for a few minutes before the horror tackle. Since the injury he has been assisting the reserve team.
Seale was a league winning centre back in the Central Midlands League with Heanor, his last competitive game coming in the League Cup Final win against Ollerton Town FC on 6th May 2007. Since his playing time ended he has taken to coaching, last season he managed the Heanor Town FC under eighteen squad.

Rogers beamed with delight when given the position, he said; “I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to develop a talented crop of youngsters that will hopefully shape the first team in years to come. This club has been fantastic with me since my injury and I want to pay it back by helping to bring through the next generation of players, I'm looking forward to my future in management and am delighted that Heanor have given a young manager a chance.”
Seale added; “"Delighted and excited that Scott and I have been given the opportunity to manage Heanor Town Reserves, I'd like to place on record thanks to outgoing manager Dave Barber for the talented young squad he's helped assembled these past two years. Really looking forward to working with Scott as his assistant and having both been involved with the development squad during the last couple of months we have the same ideas and goals moving forward. Personally it is a great honour for me to be a part of the management set up at Heanor Town having been a player here. Managing the u18's last year I know there are some exciting young local players coming through and our aim is that some of them can progress to the first team in the years to come"

First team manager Glen Clarence added; “First of all I'd like to thank Dave Barber and Ashley Pearson for leaving the reserves will a talented group of local youngsters. It's Scott's job assisted by Chris to pass their knowledge onto the lads and breed them to become first team players, Chris is an ex-Lion that I watched growing up, he was a great player and I'm sure that he will be vital for the kids development but also to aid Scott in his new role. Scott is one of the nicest lads I've met in football, he has a fantastic playing CV having been a pro at Mansfield, after suffering a near enough career ending leg break wearing the Lions shirt last season, I think his attitude and mental strength to want to start a new life in football is exemplary, as soon as his cast was off he was positive and wanting to help the club and myself, I think he deserves this chance, I think he will do a great job and I think he has a fantastic future in management!”
