Club in debt

Heanor Town Football Club would like to send a massive thank you to Mr Paul Nice of Dunkirk FC after his quick thinking and reactions on Saturday prevented a tragedy at the reserve match in Nottingham.

After an accidental clash in the box during the first half 16 year old Lions goal keeper Nathan Stone was knocked unconscious by a knee to the head, Nathan lay motionless on the floor as play continued with the match referee unsighted from the incident.

Mr Nice rushed onto the pitch to tend to Nathan as he could see him in distress, his concern for the player was spot on as Nathan was chocking after swallowing his tongue, Mr Nice retrieved Nathan's tongue from his throat before putting the lad in the recovery position and staying with him until an ambulance arrived.

This quick and decisive action probably saved Nathan's life, Heanor Town and Nathan wish to publicly thank Mr Nice for his swift action on the day. Nathan was taken to the Queens Medical Centre for a scan before being released later that evening.

Everyone at the club sends their sincere gratitude to Mr Nice and hope to have him as guest of honour at a home match in the near future.
