HM first XV finished the league campaign at home where they faced forth from bottom Garstang on Saturday. The match was not played out in the typical nothing to play for, closing weekend attitude. Garstang more than matched Moor in all areas and the 10 all result fairly reflected the 80 minute encounter, the game was fast paced, offered plenty of big hits which provided Moor with the perfect warm up for what will be a tough task on the road at Silloth RFC in two weeks time, on 26 April, when the sides meet for the chance of promotion into the North Lancs/Cumbria league. Its key now the lads stay focused and continue to train hard in preparation for this battle.
Third XV - Raging Bull NW league, Honest Estate Div 4 East
Broughton Park 4th XV 24 - 23 Didsbury Toc H 3rd XV
Dukinfield 2nd XV 20 - 10 Sedgley Park 4th XV
Heaton Moor 3rd X 41 - 28 Rochdale 4th XV
Marple 2nd XV 5 - 0 Carrington
Marple 3rd XV 26 - 21 Altrincham Kersal 3rd XV
North Manchester 2nd XV 22 - 24 Bowdon 3rd XV
With two remaining fixtures in the league campaign it was vitally important that Moor 3rd XV won one of these two games. Stevie Lyon can take a breather now as the lads beat Rochdale 4's 41-28 at Green Lane. Moor now sit in tenth place with one game to play at home where they will face Broughton Park 4th XV on 26 April. It is still vitally important that they prepare for this game, if results next weekend favour them and they beat Broughton Park then they can round off the season with a league position of eighth place.
Your club needs you and playing week in week out, where possible this is vital. It was great to see 30+ at senior training on Thursday 10 April, it is important players who's season may have come to an end still support others in the squad and train until the final session on Thursday 24 April.
The final 2 club fixtures of the season is upon us on April 26th, the third XV can finish eighth with a final win and the first XV are one game off promotion straight back to the North Lancs/Cumbria division. This is where PLAYING MEMBERS are needed to achieve these goals so please, please make training and make yourself available for these fixtures.
Training will be held as normal on Thursday this week, there is NO training on Tuesday. If you CAN NOT attend training please ensure you notify your captain or Steve Nicholas in advance with your reason(s) why.
MAKE EXCUSES TO ATTEND TRAINING, NOT TO MISS TRAINING!
C'Mon the Moor.
