Still undefeated Henley C get ready to take the court against the opposition who have them the closets game at the last half of the season! last time they met Henley won the match 24-22. Leamington are on a high after beating 2nd in the tables Ernesford, So we know they are gunning for us. but alas they have not got a full team together for the game so half to start with 6 players.

The first quarter gets off to a flying start but Henley are playing quite erratically and giving away silly passes. but win the first quarter 5-4. The low score shows how close this is going to be.Henley have not taken full advantage of Leamington only having 6 players and the centre court player struggle to find space and get the ball into the circle. Defence are playing well making interceptions and getting rebounds. Danette 'no nickname' Matthews (WA) has been playing with an injury and you can see that she is obviously uncomfortable so takes to the bench to let Melanie Walters come on to take Danettes place. But don't panic you Danette fans as she stays to coach her side for the rest of the game with Tracey Murphy (coach)! Defence are playing well

And so to the second quarter.Leamington now up to a full team. and this is where Time outs come into play with Lyn 'The Dementor' Flower's (GK) finger already taped up the ball hits it again and she calls for time. Like a true Dementor a little bit of tape and she is back on court determined to see the game out. The game is still neck and neck with Henley still not settling into their own game. And then Hardeep "too Deep" Dosanjh (C) is down and calls for Time. Over on her ankle but she is ok and takes the full time and jumps to her feet. Play flows nicely down the court but for some reason the ball is just not finding the net which is throwing throwing both Anna 'Get on the floor" Greatrex (GS) and Dawn Warmington (GA) as to what is going wrong today but they stick with it however henley end the second half down 11-12 to Leamington D.

Half time oranges again provided by Kim Holdsworth (GD) very tasty too! Danette and Tracey are talking through the game with us letting us know where we need to step it up. Defence need to do more of the same.

Third quarter starts and early on GD Kim Holdsworth goes to helpfully guide (push) Lyn 'the dementor' Flower (GK) into position and catches the wrong part of her back and bends her thumb back. The whole team panic starting to think that she has dislocated it... but it seems Kim is just a wimp and has just earned her nickname Kim 'the wimp' Holdsworth! Melanie Waters (WA) and Hardeep "too Deep" (C) make some brilliant defensive play through the quarter but Henley are still struggling to find the net! Plus the lofty leamington defence are getting the rebounds. Henley end the quarter 19-22 down!

A stern last quarter talk and Henley C do not want to end their undefeated record here!!! pure grit and determination plus a huge dose of team spirit Henley take to the court ready to change the game. Just as they are getting into their stride Leamington C goes down and calls for time and the game is stopped, for just enough time for leamington to get their breath back. The game starts to flow again with an amazing defensive effort from Lyn 'the dementor' (GK) Kim 'the wimp' and Sharon 'the player' Felton (WD) Is this the week Sharon will get player!!!! Henley show some real team spirit and end the game 29-25! winning the last quarter 10-3!!

What a team effort and henley are still undefeated and top of the league!!!!! Player of the match goes to HARDEEP 'TOO DEEP' - Well played buddy great game!!!
