Heriots went into this fixture full of confidence against a weak Edinburgh Accies side. With captain Steven Knox
winning the toss and electing to bat on a flat track at Goldie.
EA started by bowling good lines and and lengths to Knox and Ross. Knox was unfortunately run out at the non strikers end by the bowler which brought to the wicket Brad Kneebone.
Ross and Kneebone consolidated to drinks with the score of 90 odds for the fall of just 1 wicket. After drinks they increased the run rate and put on a huge partnership of 240 with Ross eventually falling for an excellent 136. Which brought to the crease the coach Cameron Farrell
. Kneebone was the next to fall for 89 to a slightly unusual dismissal but a wonderful innings.
Sean then came to crease and did what he does so well, smashing 4's and 6's to all areas of the ground. Sean and Cameron progressed quickly and Got Heriots up to 348-3.
The EA inning started slowly due to excellent bowling from Sean and Cameron. The first breakthrough was from Sean who made the pitch look like a different one from the first half. Cameron and Sean both taking 2 wickets each got Heriots off to a good start.
They were replaced by Farooq and Phale with Farooq picking up 1 and Phale 3 wickets quickly putting EA on the back foot.
By then Heriots were on top, a run out and Craig Adams
mopped up the last wicket with EA all out for 102.
It was a good start to the first half of the group stages in the Scottish cup. Let's hope it will continue in the league.
